Why I built it

Protect the decision behind the note.

Working across production and post, I kept seeing the same handoff break. A note could be perfectly clear on set, then arrive in editorial without the moment, the source, or the reason behind it.

I spent more than two years shaping Meta Note around that gap. Timecode, frame rate, production day, role, department, and the thought itself travel together instead of asking an editor to reconstruct the context later.

The goal was never another notes app. It was a faster handoff: lightweight enough for a busy set and structured enough to become useful inside the edit.

How I built it

Design backward from the edit.

I designed the workflow backward from the editor’s timeline. If the destination was a precise marker, the capture experience had to collect only the context that marker would need.

Setup happens before the take. During production, one clear recording state anchors the thought to timecode. The same project then stays available across iPhone, Apple Watch, and Mac.

On the development side, I built one shared model for every surface and shaped the export around DaVinci Resolve. The note stays simple to capture because the structure is doing the heavy work underneath.
